The King's Foundation x Van Cleef & Arpels

After 15 years of collaboration, The King's Foundation and Van Cleef & Arpels have started a new chapter together. The next three years will celebrate the inspirational gardens that sit at the heart of The King's Foundation: those of Dumfries House, Highgrove Gardens and The Castle and Gardens of Mey.

This next chapter together puts nature, gardens and our mutual inspiration of both at the centre of our collaboration. Van Cleef & Arpels are internationally renowned for combining exquisite materials to reflect our natural world, from the iconic four-leaf clover representing good luck to the breathtaking Papillon design which exudes a playful lightness underpinned by artistry from craftspeople at the height of their powers.

Similarly, The King's Foundation puts nature at the centre of its work with communities, through education, placemaking, and health and wellbeing. This extends to our gardens being a source of enjoyment and healthy living for visitors as well as the centrepiece for the next generation of master craftspeople as they hone their knowledge and skills in their chosen areas of expertise. These craftspeople are tasked with securing the future of our most treasured and loved places here in the UK and across the world.

The golden thread combining all of these elements is the idea of Harmony: that by understanding the balance, the order and the relationships between ourselves and the natural world, we can create a more sustainable future.

The King's Foundation and Van Cleef & Arpels look forward to working together on a collaboration that places our love of gardens and nature at the centre. To that end, it is with delight that, within The Queen Elizabeth II Walled Garden at Dumfries House, The Van Cleef & Arpels Rose Garden will open in September 2023.
